Applications are invited for the Nursery Teacher Education course, which qualifies candidates for teacher positions at the pre-primary (nursery) level. This is a 2-year course. Training opportunities are available at 12 Pre-Primary Teacher Training Institutes (PPTTI), including those run by the government. Admissions will be based on a rank list prepared by considering the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
Qualification
- Candidates must have passed Plus Two with at least 45% marks.
- Backward category candidates need 43% marks.
- For Scheduled category candidates, a pass in Plus Two is sufficient.
- The age must be between 18 and 33 years as of June 1, 2026.
- Age relaxation of 3 years is available for the backward category and 5 years for the scheduled category.
- Government-recognized pre-primary teachers can get age relaxation of up to three years based on their service.

Application
The application form available on the website https://education.kerala.gov.in should be filled out and submitted to the PPTTIs directly or by post by 5:00 PM on July 1. Fill in "Not Applicable" for columns that do not apply.
Photocopies of documents submitted along with the application must be self-attested. For self-financing colleges, a demand draft of ₹100 in the name of the respective institution's manager must be submitted along with the application. There is no application fee for the Scheduled category.
